The Hague as an escort market
The Hague has its own profile within the Dutch escort landscape. The city is the administrative centre, hosts foreign diplomatic missions and embassies, and has a sizeable international business clientele thanks to institutions such as the International Criminal Court and Europol. That translates into an escort market in which discretion and professionalism are valued more than in market segments built on volume or low pricing.
Supply varies strongly by district. The centre and Scheveningen attract short-stay clients — business travellers and an international public in town for a few days. Neighbourhoods such as Benoordenhout, Statenkwartier and parts of Voorburg-Centrum have a more settled clientele from the higher segment. Our page escorts in The Hague contains the current supply by category.
Supply and segments
Three types are well represented in The Hague:
- High-class independent escorts. Rates from €300 to €1,000 per hour. Usually by appointment from a private location or at hotel meetings (Hilton, Marriott, Crowne Plaza). English-speaking profile is the norm.
- Mid-segment private reception. €150 to €280 per hour. Mainly in and around the centre (Centrum, Mariahoeve, Bezuidenhout). See also our post on private reception by region.
- Club work and licensed venues. A smaller number of licensed locations. Since 2020 the municipality of The Hague has applied a conservative licensing policy, which limits the number of establishments.
International clientele: what is different
The diplomatic and corporate presence shapes market behaviour. Bookings are often made by personal assistants or via verified intermediaries. Clients expect more than a transactional encounter — conversation, socially appropriate behaviour, often a dinner component (girlfriend-experience style is over-represented here). Our guide to the girlfriend experience covers this style in detail.
Practically: providers targeting this clientele explicitly list their languages (English, French, German, sometimes Arabic or Russian), apply strict no-photo policies during hotel meetings, and communicate exclusively via encrypted messaging. For Dutch clients this segment is not usually the first choice; they more easily find a match in the mid-segment.
Licensing and enforcement
Since 2018 the municipality of The Hague has actively pursued policy to reduce operating licences in the centre. The result: fewer visible commercial venues, a stronger shift towards independent private reception. In 2026 the entry into force of the Wet regulering sekswerk is on the horizon, which will unify the national framework. The Hague is likely to make active use of the municipal spatial-restriction powers granted by that law — further reductions in club visibility and a further shift towards independent work are likely.
For the exact current state, see the website of the municipality of The Hague; licence overviews are publicly available on request.
Neighbourhoods for discreet appointments
Anyone seeking discretion has good options in The Hague:
- Bezuidenhout. A residential-business mix, close to Den Haag Centraal station and the Beatrixkwartier (business hotels). Many independent providers work from here.
- Statenkwartier and Benoordenhout. High-end residential, predominantly higher-segment independents. Anonymity is high, and parking is calmer.
- Voorburg-Centrum and Leidschendam. Just outside the centre but within tram range. Combines lower rates with concentrated mid-segment supply.

Rates and payment methods
In terms of rates, The Hague sits above Tilburg and Eindhoven, on a level comparable to Utrecht and slightly below Amsterdam. Mid-segment private reception ranges around €180–280 per hour; high-class above €400.
Payment methods: cash and card are standard. Crypto payments occur in the high-class segment — particularly with international clients who do not want a bank trail. Our page on VAT and self-employment for sex workers covers the fiscal side from the provider's perspective.
Health
GGD Haaglanden offers STI testing at the Centrum Seksuele Gezondheid in The Hague. Location and appointments via ggdhaaglanden.nl. For clients who regularly have changing contacts, a routine of three to six months between tests is advisable — more on this in our guide on STI testing at the GGD.
What to expect as a newcomer
Anyone booking in The Hague for the first time can arrange four things well in advance:
- Screen the profile — reverse image search on photos, read reviews where available. See our post on red flags and screening
- Align the hotel or private location — some hotels enforce a strict no-extra-guests policy; the Hilton chain and other international chains are typically more flexible, smaller chains stricter
- Estimate the time slot realistically — for a first appointment with an unknown provider, one hour is often too short; two hours gives room for conversation and mutual introduction
- Agree the payment method before the appointment — handing over cash at the start is the norm; discuss this in the first contact
Comparison with other cities
The Hague differs from Amsterdam (larger, rougher, more touristy) and from Rotterdam (industrial, broader mid-segment). In escort-market terms, the city is closest to Utrecht — comparable rate level, comparable business clientele, comparable emphasis on discretion. Anyone comparing several cities can consult our city guides for Utrecht, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
